The Act for Tibet Trust fund is a holding fund that anyone working in Tibet can apply to for grants of up to £500. Grants are given to those doing grass root work inside the Tibet Autonomous Region, Kham or Amdo. If you would like to donate to the trust fund - we have found that many people have a dislike of giving credit card details over the internet. We have found that the safest way for you to donate is by sending an old fashioned cheque in the post! If you would like, as some do, to make a regular monthly payment into the Act for Tibet bank account then we'll be able to let you know EXACTLY what it is spent on. Please make your cheque payable to 'Act for Tibet' and send it to: The Secretary None of your donation will be used to cover our rent or staff salary as our overheads are zero. All donations will be put to use in positive actions or given to Tibetan Charities using the grant procedure below. We are a not-for-profit company. Our funds have been raised by sponsored events and personal effort... If you would like to apply for a grant - Here is our procedure. SMALL GRANTS Act for Tibet has been receiving donations from people who want to make a difference in Tibet. We want to ensure that these donations are spent with transparency on the best projects for Tibet, so we are introducing a Small Grants Procedure. This will be the only way to receive money from Act for Tibet. To apply for a grant, please complete the questions below and submit by email to: contact@actfortibet.org, or post to: The Secretary, Act for Tibet, 11 Merivale Road, Putney, SW15 2NW, UK. Grant applications will be considered whenever there is money available. If there is no money available, your application will be held until more donations have been received. A decision on an application will be made as quickly as possible. The decision on whether or not to fund a project will be taken by Act for Tibet, who will seek additional expert opinion if necessary. The decisions made by Act for Tibet are final. Ideally Act for Tibet will fund projects where no more than 20% of the applicant organization’s budget goes to overhead costs. In other words, 80% or more of grant funds must be applied directly to the program for Tibet. We’re only giving small grants, so you only need give brief descriptions.
